Developing a Millenium Mindset

It has been a ritual at IndSearch to welcome the fresh batch of incoming students with the Orientation programme.
In the orientation Programme, eminent Speakers from the Industry are invited to share their views and experiences with Students, which motivates and guides the students to make the most of their two years at IndSearch.
The Managers of today need to transcend the conventional methods of approach to Business. And need to develop a holistic and global mindset. It is with this aim in mind that the Theme for the Orientation Programme this year was decided as "Developing a Millenium Mindset"
Prior to the formal inauguration of the Programme the entire audience stood up to offer condolences to the victims of the Mumbai Blasts on July 11 th 2006.

At the very outset Dr. Joshi welcomed the freshers to IndSearch. Dr. Joshi spoke about the latest buzzword "Go Go", which signifies Go Global. Dr. Joshi, in the course of his speech emphasized that the Youth of today need to be sensitized not only towards business, but also towards social and political issues thereby developing an assimilative mindset.
The first Guest Speaker, Dr. Santosh Bhave-Vice President HR, Bharat Forge Ltd, spoke on various HR practices at Bharat Forge and emphasized on the people aspect of the organisation. He credited the enormous growth of their organsiation to the vision of their founder and the contribution of the employees.

The next Guest Speaker was Ms. Prameela Kalive, Global head HR, Zensar technologies. Ms. Kalive brought home the point that to make it Big,one must think Big and dream Big, citing the example of our President, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, She also had a very lively interaction with the students
The next Speaker, Mr. Ajay Joshi - Vice President Finance Alfa Laval (India) Ltd, touched upon all the aspects of management laying special emphasis on the functional areas of Marketing, IT and HR. He iterated the need for Management Professionals to develop a foresight and have a proactive approach rather than a reactive one.

The last Speaker for the day was Ms..Sushma Bhayani - Business Process Improvement Manager, Maersk Line. According to her Business is all about dealing with human beings and hence it is imperative for Business to inculcate moral and ethical values. In a nutshell she said that "Developing a Millenium Mindset" was developing a mindset for Millions.
The Vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Sandeep Gokhale Faculty IT Department.

Our first Guest Speaker for the second day of the Orientation Programme was Mr. Tanveer Saulat, General Manager and CPO Synechron Technologies. Mr Tanveer, spoke about Synechron, right from the stage of its inception to its current day position. He discussed at length about the various obstacles faced and the difficulties that he had to overcome as an Entrepreneur in this journey. He emphasized that the trust placed in the employees and the autonomy given to them, has born rich fruits for the Organisation.

Mr Sunil Deo - Director Systems, Synechron Technologies , talks on the global challenges in the corporate world.


The last speaker for the day was Mr. Sunil Deo - Director Systems Synechron Technologies. Mr. Deo gave several examples to justify that India has arrived on the global map. He also gave a comparison between India and China emphasizing on various areas that we need to develop for becoming truly global. He listed Ten Commandments for success in corporate careers, which he has evolved from his personal experience. He also talked about Corporate Social responsibility particularly in the Social and environmental areas.
